Radiant Transfer Manufacturing Co Ltd was established in 1946 in premises that were the original stables and coach house for the Mona Vale estate.
The company changed hands in 1963 and then shifted to its current site in Barbour Street ten years later. During this time transfers were the mainstay of production, with self adhesive labels playing an increasing role from the mid to late 1970s.
Ron and Cheryl Reed bought the company in 1989, and to reflect the current product base, changed the name to Radiant Screenprint Ltd soon afterwards.
Printing on corflute was introduced for the manufacture of signs for the real estate industry and many other applications, with Ray White Real Estate being a principal client.
Another new process introduced has been printing onto polycarbonates, polyesters and other plastics, especially for use by the electronics industry. These materials are laminated with adhesive and are very durable. Dynamic Controls Ltd, a local wheelchair controller manufacturer, is a major user of these products.
